We at Scala send our warmest wishes and congratulations to Peter Estlin, who this Saturday becomes the 691st elected Lord Mayor of the City of London.

Peter has spent most of his career in banking, and finance. However, he has long been a keen proponent of HR, recognising the enormous value a good HR function brings to an organisation. Peter is the supporting Alderman of the Guild of Human Resource Professionals.

At Scala, we were hugely honoured last April when Peter supported our Executive Leadership Development programme, which we ran for GEMA Business School of Rome, and Latam Business School of Mexico City. Peter captivated our delegates with his personal story, his perceptive insights about HR, and business, and his passion for helping others. We will be following his mayoral year with pride.

In this role as elected head of the City of London Corporation, Peter will act as a global ambassador for the UK-based financial and professional services industry, which as he said, and we all know, is facing “a critical moment ahead of Brexit.”

Elected an Alderman in 2013, Peter has spent most of his career in banking, and will take a sabbatical from his post of senior adviser to Barclays Bank during his year as Lord Mayor.

At Scala, we are now planning our next programme in London for GEMA Business School. If you are interested in making connections with Italian businesses, please get in touch
