Pinsight information for delegates

Preparation

About a week before you are scheduled to complete Pinsight, you will receive an email with your login details. We advise that you set aside at least three hours of preparation time. When you login, you will receive some emails asking you to carry out a few steps. Please do this, as these steps will make sure your system is compatible with Pinsight, and will enable us to make alternative arrangements if need be.You will also be asked to complete a short questionnaire. This is an important part of the simulation as it will compute your responses into a personality profile, which will be especially helpful for you in planning your development.

 

You will notice that you have a number of documents already loaded. This is the main part of your pre-work. Working through this information will help you perform the simulation. Think of it this way: would you go to an important meeting with your board without preparing?

 

Performing the simulation

Most delegates (especially those who have prepared well) find the simulation fun, as well as challenging and stretching. (See the client testimonials at the bottom of the page.) The simulation is timed and so it will stop once your scheduled time expires, so make sure you have noted your start and finish times. During the simulation, you will be required to solve problems, deal with people issues, and prepare and deliver presentations, or reports. Some of this will be by email, but you will also be contacted through the platform for video conference calls. For most of the simulations, there are two of these video role-plays, but there are three for the senior level simulation. If you do not wish to email, you can telephone people through the platform. Please leave them a voice message, if there is no reply. 

 

Report and follow-up

About 24 hours after you have completed the simulation, you will be contacted by one of the assessors who will give you the link to your interactive feedback report, and who will also fix a telephone call with you to walk you the report, and also help you make a start on your development plan.

 

The feedback report is detailed and insightful. You can see how you were rated by the different assessors on each of the exercises.You can identify your strengths, and also weaknesses. You can look at how you performed against the competencies your organisation has identified as being critical to success. You can also look at the different strategies that are linked to your current, or future role and see how ready you are to perform these strategies. You will find many development suggestions that link development to your work experience to help you bridge the gap between where you are now and where you wish to be. You can self-manage your development through these suggestions, or use them with a coach or mentor. You will have access to this report for 12 months from completion of Pinsight.
